There is a possible explanation here... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-22708497

In short if a tenant wants to leave they cannot get out of the contract and the landlord gets more money from the 'ex' tenant who is still under contract compared to what they can now get in rent from a new tenant.

Pretty much answers the question.

Vince.

Apparently Margate is on the rise in terms of occupancy

there does seem a bit more life on the High Street, I guess the pro and anti Portas camps would have different views on the reason for the change.

Don't let Bob rile you, and know that I simply mean this in it's most basic and true form, but he is an idiot.
...and yes, he does just make stuff up.

Four more retail chains go into administation

Dwell, the furniture retailer, has confirmed the appointment of Duff & Phelps as administrator, while Internacionale, ModelZone and Ark have filed a notice to appoint administrators.
About 2,000 staff are employed by the four companies.
Internacionale, which has almost 150 stores, has lined up Ernst & Young as administrator, while ModelZone is to appoint Deloitte.
Ark, whose parent company is called Rett Retail Limited, is a fashion retailer primarily based in the north of England.
