Ferengi Rules of Acquisition: Rule 76. Every once in a while, declare peace. It confuses the hell out of your enemies.

Disappointed but I still have faith. Good luck and thank you to everyone involved in making the dream come alive. We really can't fault your hard work.

There are wider concerns over security after internal fencing at the site was removed and a group of travellers set up camp on the site this week.

A dozen caravans pitched on the park on Monday.

The MTCRC has made a court appeal to remove the squatters from the site.

Director Toby Hunter said: "It's a real nuisance and I know from experience that travellers camps can leave a real mess, as they often leave rubbish.

"We've made an application with the sheriff's court to remove them, but it could take 14 or 21 days to go through."

...and I wonder how come that internal fencing came to be removed. "Oh dear" says MTCRC, "what a shame!"

Funny. Why is internal fencing going down in the first place. At a crucial stage like this, I would have hoped security was increased, not decreased.

No signs of gypsies yesterday (Saturday 22nd June), but sadly the sheer dereliction of the site and its environs, the prospect of a sea front Tesco and the sad state of Margate as a whole really do make you wonder what the future can possibly hold.

Along with Morecambe, Margate has got to be the saddest picture of seaside boom to bust in the country, both due to the greed and indifference of their respective local authorities.

sorry - I think that is a bit extreme. If you had walked a further 100 metres you would have been in the thriving old town around the gallery with a great range of shops and cafe's etc. Clearly the dreamland end is an issue, and this latest delay is unwelcome to say the least.

Yes the old town is great and I think Margate has got better over the last couple of years.
