The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

Thanks
Can we use the word "stolen" rather than "taken away"? I know there is a legal grey area over the fact that they were being stored on someone else's site, but they weren't given to the then site owners...

And we do still have the planes, it is the ride centre and mechanical parts that have gone.

I don't suppose there is any chance (money permitting), that these lost rides could be rebuilt some time in the future? I am relieved there wasn't more that were taken/stolen though it is still a big disappointment.
I know there are similar copies of the Cableway and Flying Scooters in the US that perhaps could be replicated.

Most of it is missing, there is about one tower left and not much else.

It was Wonderful to see the huge turnout last Saturday and most of them voluneering to help get Dreamland open by 2015. I'm sure there will be plenty of skilled people in the crew. Landscapers, painters, electricians and so on. Dreamland is for the People and it's they who will get this Park open on time. We can walk through the gates and say, I did something to be proud of.

Ok, so where did this stuff go?
Find it. It went somewhere.
Call the BBC. Alert the papers. Put out a reward. Someone will talk.

We tracked them all down some time ago to a scrap yard, where they had already been scrapped and most of the metal recycled.

Attempt? Sounds like they were successful.
They'll show up somewhere eventually. When they do, lay claim to them as stolen.
Be SURE there's a report filed with the police outlining what's missing. Should be a fairly straightforward process to reclaim them.
Be on the lookout for PARTS of them advertised.
Somebody has seen something.
