Hi Nick, thanks for letting us know this great news. Is that it now, no further appeals? I don't know if you know as there does not seem to be any sort of response from Toby Hunter & Co as to there intentions now.

Great news indeed! Now I can look forward to getting my hands dirty with some kind of volunteer work - and even better, getting to ride the Scenic again.

I trust that all the avenues of appeal have now been used up, as Cheryl has already commented. We just have to be sure that the "alternative" modes of scuppering the much-needed redevelopment of Dreamland into the Heritage Amusement Park are rendered as difficult as possible ;-)

Wonderful news.

Hopefully, this is the final nail in the coffin of any attempt to stop the Heritage Park commencing.

If this is truly the end of the Save Dreamland Campaign, then enormous credit goes to Nick Laister - without him, the site would be have been turned into a car park and houses around 2005.

There is still much to do, but I think it is finally safe to rejoice and banish the ghosts of Toby Hunter and Jimmy Godden forever. The strange thing is that in the ten years or so since the campaign started, I really don't think there has been a better time for it to be built, with The Turner and The Old Town receiving so much publicity. Maybe it was meant to be......

I have counted enough chickens in the past to start my own KFC franchise so I won't celebrate just yet, but it seem like we have finally made it.

Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to all the team who have given so much time and effort to achieve this result. I first visited Dreamland as a 10 year old lad back in 1958 and very much look forward to seeing it returned to its former glory.

A huge thank you to the Save Dreamland Campaign, the Dreamland Trust, TDC, and everyone else who made this happen. It is great to know the "people's park" is almost ours again. Where the likes of Frontier Land, Pleasureama, the Rotunda, Southport etc have failed, Dreamland has survived through this rough decade and the fear of housing is clear from the plans, as it should be.

Bravo!
