The great Gate-Opening is taking place on 16 November 2013 at mid-day, and we are all invited to come along and sign up for something they call the Big Clear Day. I aim to be there!

Anyone else making plans to attend this momentous event?

I am working a 12 hour shift on the Friday night from 7pm to 7am on the Saturday morning,so I get home at 8am and will have a few hours sleep before we set off.

Where would be available for parking, and can we bring our dog?
Interested in tickets for the evening depending on the cost.

Vince.

The "Dreamland" carpark has been cleaned up and is open again as a pay and display, currently being operated by Thanet District Council.

So within days of the verdict, there is a new source of revenue for the council. Good stuff.

But - back on topic - are you going to be there for the "Open Gate" event?

No tickets required, just turn up at mid-day.

Look forward to attending. May I ask how long the event will be going on for and what we may expect from it? (unless it is meant to be a surprise of course)

The Thanet Gazette appears to have a bit more info regarding timings and sale of tickets for the evening part:

A STAR-STUDDED auction and open day will take place at Dreamland next month.

The gates will be opened for the first time since it closed in 2006 and art by Vic Reeves, Billy Childish and Tracey Emin will go under the hammer on November 16 to help fund a learning centre at the amusement park.

The Dreamland Trust will opens the gates to Dreamland at noon to invite the community to come and see the park site for the first time since it closed in 2006.

The auction takes place at 6pm with BBC Antiques Roadshow expert Mark Hill and Flog It! pundit Mark Stacey.

A limited number of tickets go on sale next Friday (October 25) to a VIP champagne and canapé reception with live music.

The Trust are aiming to welcome visitors during the 18-month project to open the world's first park of exclusively vintage rides.

Talks continue with potential park operating companies and park managers.

Briefs will be shortly released to tender for concessions and leases for cafes, restaurants, retail units, kiosks and sideshows at the park.
