So is this set 4 abreast set that used to be at Dreamland, and does this mean they are officially saved for Dreamland?

Sweet. Every good park needs a carousel, and this one is spectacular.

Correct on both counts. I bought it from the Hop Farm and have kept it in store. It now belongs to the Dreamland project and we will be fully rebuilding and refurbishing it in 2015 before it returns to Dreamland when the park opens in 2015.

It's really good news! I chuckle to myself at the thought that I posted on here when the news broke about the Hop Farm that the gallopers may be recoverable, and wonder if my post had anything to do with them being saved by David?

By the time it appeared on here Vince they were already secured and I must admit I was itching to tell you but needed to remain tight lipped at the time.

Great to finally have a Carousel for the project. Neat work everyone!

However, out of curiosity, does anyone know what era this version came from? Was it the Savages one that I remember from the godden era or was it an earlier model from the park? I am sure there have been a fair few Carousels at Dreamland over the years.

This is the four-abreast from the Godden era.

Neither here nor there. It's just a bonus that it was actually in Dreamland at one time.
It is a prize and we thank you for putting up the funds to acquire and store it.

Maybe people don't think much of it now, but in 50 or 100 years... You've truly saved a bit of your national history.
