Classic rides for sale.

Postby noon » 18 May 2014, 17:03

Was browsing ebay today and found this for sale, its a classic Octopus ride. I loved this reide when I was a kid and haven't seen one in action for years. It would be great to have one at Dreamland, good white knuckle family ride. This one needs a lot of restoration but seems to be compltete including fencing and lights. What do people think??http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OCTOPUS-fair-ground-ride-spares-and-repairs-or-restoration-/121344068435?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c40ab8b53

Shame as I loved riding the Octopus at Carters but being no expert, I would say unless the funds were already there, this one is too far gone. Hopefully another can be aquired somewhere down the line as they are alot of fun.

These rides need serious restoration and are hugely expensive to restore as well as being slow to load and difficult to operate. Probably best left where it is sadly.

I like the way they look as it a lovely bit of engineering. But never got much of a buzz out of riding one. I hope Dreamland manages to find more one off rides.
