Hi all, I'm new to this formun and only found out the bad news this week. When I was younger I was always at Dreamland, after visiting it yesterday (Tueday 13th) I was very dissapointed to see what it had become. I was wondering if anyone knew whether Dreamland was available for purchase and if so what sort of price it would be.
Thanks
Dean.

Hi Dean,
Well it's privately owned and as such it's up to the owner as to whether it's for sale or not and also to whom.
If you have a read through the other posts and the news pages you'll find that Phillip Miller (owner of Southend's Adventure Island) amongst others would like to buy it but at the price suitable for a theme park.
The current owner would like to get permission for other uses. The main problem is that if planning permission for other uses goes ahead the site is worth considerably more than than the 4 million of so it's worth as an amusement park.
As such unless planning permission can be blocked (an aim of the campaign) Mr Godden is likely to favour the option that brings in more money.

Thank you for your reply. If there is anything more I can do I'm more than willing to help. I will be visiting dreamland as many times as I can over the coming months while it is still open.
I just hope the council will see that although re-development may bring in more money for a short period of time it will not bring in more tourists.
Thanks
Dean.
