OK, someone needs to book the Original Bucks Fizz.

They never really saw release here in the USA other than a promotional single of "The Land of Make Believe," but this is exactly the kind of nostalgia act Dreamland needs to be booking.
I spotted them on a video channel and looked them up. Love them. Tracked down several of their singles including a couple 12" remixes.
As you say: Brilliant!

Are they still doing the Antiques Roadshow over there?
Book it. Costs likely picked up by the BBC.

Car shows. No cost involved. The clubs do virtually all the promotion.
MG
Volkswagen
Rover
Mini
The potential here is unlimited.
Find these clubs, book them.

I really should move over there and become promotions director.

I completely agree, I can't imagine anybody better for the job (and I say that as somebody who spent years working in promo in the days when he had slightly more enthusiasm and energy) than a bold and brash American, willing to explore new ideas :P

Perhaps you ought to send a CV? Seriously.

I have freaking great ideas. I bet a lot of performers would be willing to help out if they can just get enough to cover costs and do truncated versions of their shows.
You contact their management for that. there may even be grant funds available as cultural perks.

Get Petula Clark!
Get collectors car groups!
Antiques Roadshow!

There's an endless supply of events and crowd-draws. You just have to start looking for them.
You know, if I could make a living doing it, I just might.

Cheryl Baker is a Kent girl and still lives in Kent I'm told. Which means at some point she will have been to Dreamland. I'm not sure there's a venue other than the open air to hoist it just yet. I guess money will now play a big part in the other venues being finished.

Open air concerts are fantastic. We have a seaside amusement park here, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (Big Dipper, circa 1924), and they do a summer concert series for like 12 weeks. The stage is on the beach. They're a blast. Great acts, Berlin, Eddie Money, the Fixx...
They're wildly popular drawing thousands of people, who before, during and after spend their money on the Boardwalk.

Dipper page and video. It's a "bobs" style woodie, which means it has banked turns.
