Don't let a little surface rust deter you. Yes, it's a poor way to store them, but they'd have needed to be sandblasted and stripped prior to restoration anyway. The heavy mechanical parts are of hardened steel and are fine under any patina they've acquired.
If anyone here is that concerned, start asking around among people you know about donating some indoor storage for the cars which are the most susceptible to damage. Someone well connected should also ask to go in and drill a couple holes in the floors of them to facilitate drainage.

I hear a lot of whining here, but not a lot of "let me see what I can do."
YOU could be the "THEY" who is always expected to do something.

Hi Jim,

I'm sorry to say I have tried to contact dreamland with offers of help, and you know where it got me? no where, not even an acknowledgement of my emails (coming from a background of restoring vintage/classic arcade machines/pinballs and owning arcades). I used to buy machines off dreamland and the surrounding arcades so its not as if they wouldn't have known me (or could have easily spoken to someone who did), that kinda tells me all I need to know about the people currently running the place.

Try getting in contact with Nick or Sarah. Both members here and key players in Save Dreamland. They may have an "in."

Your other options are phone calls, or actually going down to the offices in person and insisting on speaking to someone.

As no one else *in the know* is bothering to respond, I will. Sarah left the trust over a year ago and as far as im aware the Dreamland Trust dont have a great deal to do with the park anymore. The park is being run by a company and they decide what happens with Dreamland and if they choose not to respond to people that is up to them. Maybe contact the local council and ask them why the Dreamland Trust didn't get to run the park as was previously agreed. Ask the trust why the council had control of all funds that the trust partly applied for, and also where those funds went? Why they were not spent on particular things as they should of been? Why was money from wrong departments spent on things they shouldn't of been? The list goes on and on !!!

Sorry, they had there chance, with the current management I can't see dreamland surviving and the last thing I want to do is fill the place up with VERY expensive machines only for the place to fold and Sands auctioning off gear that doesn't belong to them.

Hmm.
Ultimately Dreamland still belongs to the public. Management isn't ownership.
Let me do a little digging and see what I can come up with. I'm sorry you're having such a bad time with the current management considering you're willing to volunteer your time. They may need to go bye-bye.
Perhaps it's time for people to drop in on a Council meeting and voice their opinions.

Edit:
I've emailed Nick to see if he has an "in" or any information about volunteer opportunities.
I suspect the management is either 1) completely overwhelmed (which could be understandable), or 2) not interested in interacting with the public (which is just bad business).
