Recent Dreamland Fire?

Postby porterm » 18 Jul 2004, 23:41

Hi all,

I visited the Dymchurch Amusement Park on Sunday afternoon (yesterday) and whilst speaking to a ride operator was informed that the Scenic Railway apparently had a "fire" incident around a week ago. With the recent former posting of a "Another Fire at Godden-owned Property" I just wondered if there was any truth in this story. Perhaps someone could clarify things, however I'm sure we would all be alerted as to any "incidents" on this website quite promptly under normal circumstances. I hope it was a minor incident if it did actually occur.

By the way, I thought that all the Dymchurch Park operators were very friendly, and I of course promoted our Campaign website whenever possible. Hopefully we'll have a few more members soon. (When I was at Southend's Adventure Island back in April I also did the same and I believe the recent postings by a lady, whose name I forget at present, might just be from that very nice lady I spoke to at one of their charming ticket windows. It was quite a miserable damp day on our visit and they were still very pleasant).

Bye for now,

Martin

PS Just noticed that I rather coincidentally managed to post 84 items at the last count here; one for every year of the Scenic Railway ironically!

Hi Martin,

I can confirm there have been no fires on the Scenic and that the ride is fine and running ok,

Recent Dreamland Fire?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the confirmation. Must just be some confused signals over other recent Godden-owned building fire related incident(s).

I'll try to get down to Dreamland this Sunday by the way, hopefully bringing some friends with me.
