The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

hi chris here. we got dreamland open for this season.but we still have to fight for dreamland to open in 2005.this season we have to think about the next.then in 2005 we have to think about if dreamland will open for 2006 and so on.the fight continues

To be honest, I think the Inspector's Report on the Public Enquiry may prove decisive either way. We've had our chance to object to the local plan being changed to allow for anything other than 'tourism' use, and we've sent our feedback on the seafront regeneration scheme. I'm not sure what other chances there'll be. Hopefully Nick has something up his sleeve, some secret tactics etc!

The Inspector's report will be a major landmark in the campaign. But, whatever it says (favourable or unfavourable to us), I am certain it won't be the final word. There are things like planning applications and listed building consent applications to worry about, plus the so-called Masterplan...
