Fond memories.

Came across this site by total accident. The photo gallery of the Bembom years brought back some fond memories. I worked there in 89 & 90 and was the operator on the Mary Rose. (the money I used to find under the ride was amazing - probably more than the wages at that time). I even had the thing stuck upside down at one point ha-ha  . It is quite sad the way it has fallen from grace. The park used to be heaving and on certain bank holidays was fantastic - nice weather (most of the time) - nice girls (most of the time) and the other people working there were great aswell, having a good laugh was all part of the job. I moved away only to return to Margate in 96. I managed to get a job there back in 98 but the vibe was missing - it just wasnt the same. I look back at the first time I worked there and it brings a smile to my face and feel it is quite sad the way the park declined rapidly. I know things move on but it was a great place back then.If someone had told me the way the park would decline I would never have believed them. Margate is not the same place without Dreamland. COME BACK HANS AND HANK BEMBOM - ALL IS FORGIVEN.
