Hello there,

I just wondered where this confirmation had been mentioned. (As I do shift work I very rarely get to tune into the local TV news these days). I was just intrigued to know it this item was featured in the press or radio or TV, assuming it has been broadcast to the general public.

I do hope it's true though as common sense seems to have finally prevailed with the council if this is the case.

Unfortunately it looks like the article has been updated and inow ncludes the following quote :

But Mr Godden said today: "There is no chance Mr Miller will be buying it. His bid gave no real thought towards the true value of Dreamland."

The new article is under the heading "Southend: Miller's plans for Margate dashed"

Personally I think this sounds like this is old news.

The fact that the council voted for the majority of Dreamland to be earmarked for 'leisure use' does not mean that they will retain it as an amusement park. It is a very loose term and could mean a variety of options. Bowling alleys, Cinemas and Casinos would come under this banner, I do believe.

Can I just confirm to those of you who may be a little confused regarding this article that Thanet District Council have not made any decisions regarding the Dreamlnad site and its future. The information in this article is not true and I feel will be corrected very soon. The findings or reccomendations from the public enquiry regarding the Dreamland site will not be published for quite some time yet as the enquiry only closed last week. As and when anything has been confirmed and decisions made im sure Nick will be the first to put any relevant news on the site.

Thats ok just wanted to point the facts out before some people start getting too excited about plans that are a long way off at the moment. If you look at the news link for that article you will see it has now been removed due to containing incorrect information.
