well thats not a great omen but hey,we have had many setbacks.Nick i have a suggestion for next year for a new operator.would Philip Miller (southend's park owner).would he be interested in running the park next season for 2006.philip miller did wonders with adventure island,maybe he would be interested in showing how good he really is at running a theme park.i for one have watched since i was a youngster how he has transformed his park and im sure given the chance he would show margate and its pathetic council what they will be losing if they dont start taking their head out of the clouds

I totally agree with you.If Harry Ayers had realised long before now that he was working with a bunch of cowboys, taken on Simon, Dave and John to get the Scenic up and running along with qualified people to maintain the rest of the park, Dreamland could and should have been open ages ago.

I TOTALLY AGREE HE HAS MADE SOUTHEND SO SUCSESSFUL

I can't speak for Philip, but I wouldn't have thought he would be very interested in a short-term lease. That is more suited to a travelling operator. Philip is looking for a long-term investment into a permanent tourist attraction at Dreamland, with permanent theme park rides.

However, at the Thanet District Council AGM last Thursday, the Council Leader spoke positively about the importance of Dreamland as a tourist attraction, and the need to find a theme park operator. I assume that this is as a result of the Margate Masterplan consultation, which overwhelmingly backed an amusement park at Dreamland:

well that sounds a step in the right direction nick.at least someone on the council is sitting up and taking notice.well seeing all the photos of new rides and with more to come.a sleeping giant is well and truly back on the map.long live dreamland

Well, this is going from one exteme to another, fantastic news about the council leader backing Dreamland, that is a really wonderful piece of news. Posters look great as well.....
