Moving into the realms of fantasy here...

WHEN Dreamland is saved. What new rides would you like to see installed in the park (based on a realistic total budget of around 10 million pounds)?

My fantasy for Dreamland would be..

A steel coaster (maybe they could pick up Magnum Force from Flamingoland for a reasonable price).

Also I would like to see some new flatrides which are rare in theme parks in this country, such as:

Huss 'Booster' (different ride completely from the Fabbri version),
Mondial 'Shake', a 'Flic Flac' and a 'Flying Circus'.

I would love to see a Giant Frisbee at Dreamland but this may be too costly.

By the way, pics of the above rides can be found at www.flatrides.com

I must be getting older, because most of those rides make me want to grab my headache tablets, and utter those imortal words once heard on the Mary Rose... "Who wants my dinner".

Based on that budget, i would love to see the Magnum Force there, keeping the tradition of the Looping Star alive!

However, based on my FANTASY budget of unlimited funds, i would bung in a B&M Floorlerss, an INtamin Impluse, a shoot the chute, flatrides liek a giant frisbee and a giant swing, a Mary Rose type ride, Intamin Hypercoaster wrapping around the buildings on the seafront..

Based on the budget you suggest, the concept plan is based on an investment of 10 - 12 million, rides on that plan would be great for the Dreamland site but will have to ewait and see what the future holds for the parks future !

although i must admit i have never visited the park since im from up north (whitley bay, hence my support on a seaside park being saved since we lost the famous spanish city in 2000, subsequently the dome still sits abandoned and dangerously in disrepair) rides i can imagine would suit the park would be something like this (realistically)

Magnum Force (from Flamingoland)
Mondial Top Scan (i know Top Buzz 2 is available for sale)
A Huss ranger or similar (similar to the mary rose)
Fabbri Freefall tower
Log flume or river rapids (ideally a second hand travelling version)
Reverchon spinning mouse or similar

the above would be an ideal start for an attractive line-up for the park. however if the park is saved, good management and a good family friendly atmosphere with numerous supporting attractions needs to be established. I know this is what all seaside parks have lost since the early 90's.

By the way, just recieved Dreamland Remembered 2nd edition- its a great insight into something now close to my heart!
