Hi all

Could someone inform me how much land their is for an actual theme park to be run on because this summer a metal fence about 9ft high seemed to appear cutting off the car park, the old amusment arcade and a section where you enter the park from the cinema.
I can't help but see this as another way of srinking the park in size and just another obsticle that is going to hinder Dreamlands future progress.

Does any one else share my thoughts or am just being too cautious

That fence was there so the operator could put an entry charge in place as far as I know.

As far as i am aware the car park is owend by a London based firm that apparently improves deralict and run down sites giving them a face lift. This is what i got told when i asked the car park sweeper (Dingo).

What relationship does Godden have with the company and does he have any say over what happens to the land.

As far as I'm aware the entire site, both car park and the rest of the site is now owned by the development company.

The following is taken from the news pages of this site (well worth a look through for this sort of background info) and explains as much as is know about the company ownership:

The site is currently owned by Margate Town Centre Regeneration Company - a combination of Margate Development, which has a 60 per cent share, and businessman Jimmy Godden who has the other 40 per cent.

Margate Development is owned by Mr Hunter, the major share holder in Newbury-based firm Waterbridge.
