Scenic Railway PLANS?

Postby Nigel Hyde » 29 Dec 2005, 22:27

Hi i have been looking at this web site for 2 years and thought i would sign up!

I have just come back from Dreamland today + visiting some relatives (some dead some not!) and having a good look at the whole area, i climbed a fence to see where "Billy" used to go (i still have the badge and car sticker from the good old days! then i moved on to the scenic railway I can trace my family way back in Margate and we all went on it its such a shame for it to be standing there unused, dont get me wrong its a great and wonderfull thing, i could look at it for ages! (and i did!) I remeber the days when it was so busy (im 32 so not so long ago) we used to go down to margate at least 4 times a year and ride the rides, how i want those days back! just to go around the old park go on Billy and ride the scenic! can i do this again in 2006? i hope so

MY MAIN QUESTION! (at last!)

are ther any plans or drawings of the scenic railway ? im a carpenter and a modelmaker and would love to make a working model of it

and if you need any help with the big scenic i would more than love to come and help a couple of weekends on the big one!

thanks for reading this
excuse the spelling!!

Nigel
I want to ride the scenic again ..... please!

Hello Nigel, and wlcome along,

Many moons ago, our own Mick Tomlinson (micktee) built this rather splendid model of the Scenic Railway. I don't think it is an exact scale model though, since the Scenic Railway has more stanchions as I recall.

I'm sure he would be happy to tell you more about it.

As for a working model, I think you would find that rather more difficult, since you can't scale down gravity!
