I do not feel that Bob should be barred from the forum. As David says it would take away a lot of the fun of the forum, plus he is entitled to have his say, even if as a group we disagree with him. As a campaign group, it would look like a weakness if we do not try and engage with those who have opposing views. (whether any people who oppose our views want to engage actively with our views is another matter!!!)

Bob, your views are welcome as far as I am concerned, as they just make me even more determined to campaign harder.

It also means that if anyone is ever having to argue for the campaign, either on the issues or the general relevance (why do you want to bother with that??) the answers have been generated by fellow campaigners responses to Bob's postings.

Remember, it will just make victory that little more sweeter.

As per my previous post, I questioned the fact that Bob was unlikely to be representing the opinion of who it's claimed he is & just coming up with these Postings to provoke a reaction from people.

I'm all for people speaking their mind and if someone truly has some constructive criticism or points of view, however detrimental, that can be backed up with research, then I say they should be welcomed on here. If someone posts random statements with no reference to fact, using points of view such as "You're all Steam Roller trainspotter types" then their posts should be excluded because they are clearly designed to
provoke reaction without debate.

I think Bob should stay if he is prepared to take the time to back up his statements with fact & can actually state who's views he represents rather than continually run down this campaign and the people involved with it. In fact, I would welcome more derogatory statements as long as the people who post them have the backbone to say who they are and are happy to enter a debate as opposed to mindless barracking.

I don't think Bob should be banned as he is good entertainment value and if he is the manager of Dreamland then to degrees he is representing the development comapny and will make us more determined than ever to campaign. I do however think he should be careful about what he says as I will hence remind him of the rules:

Nick seems to know what he's doing and will ofcourse have the ultimate say in the matter. If people feel that particular messages are going too far then hopefully Nick will intervene and go through the official proceedures (deleting certain posts, formal warnings). Hopefully it would never come to banning him and I'm sure if he thought banning was a serious possibility he would be a little more careful.

I agree. Nobody should be censored unless personal abuse or threats are made. Bob's statements are marvellously funny.Come on Bob it's been a long day and I could do with a laugh.

From time to time I do have to delete posts, usually where the posts are potentially libellous. So far, I have not had to delete any of Bob's posts. As long as people don't break our fairly flexible rules, I am happy to let them keep posting.

This board has been much more fun since Bob has been around!

Bob should definately NOT be censored.

To be fair he is a business man with an interest in what business men do.

I scratch my head and wonder why he says much of what he says sometimes but like most people on these boards I respect the fact that he has a right to say what he wants to say.

..Besides I think it provides a great insight into the mindset of someone who doesn't want to see Dreamland rise from the ashes.

I think Bob should still be allowed on the board, so long as he confirms the answer to the question of who he really is.

As others have said, Bob does a good job of confirming that the Campaign should stand it's ground to have the land's value kept at Amusement Park levels, so that nothing other than an amusement park is built there.

I'm getting worried about Bob. Perhaps he's gone on his holidays and there's no need to panic. But he could have this flu that's going around. Or he could be prone on a hospital bed at the QEQM. So I'm getting worried about Bob.

I've always loved the bit in Westerns where they round up a posse and go in search of the distressed maiden (Gina Lollabrigida springs to mind). If only we had a description we could send out a search party.
