Following popular demand (well 2 people) it's time for another poll. The Theme Tune for the Save Dreamland Campaign!

Clearly with 60 years of Pop music, the decision will be difficult - but hey life is full of difficuly decisions!

It clearly has to be Captain Sensible's 1982 UK Number One: "Happy Talk". If you listen to the lyrics, it clearly defines the archetypal characteristics of the campaign and it's members. Hairy Vince, I most vehemently insist upon it's inclusion in the poll. If you look closely enough, the words are seem to be eerily connected with Dreamland…..

I treated myself to a Savoy Cabbage from Somerfield today. It'll be a wrench, but if you must have a prize that's the best I can do.

Interesting selection Vince. But what about Rock 'n' Roller Coaster by Tony Crombie and his Rockets? We Can Work it Out by The Beatles? A Little Less Conversation by the King? Or Everybody's Talking by Harry Nilsson (which immediately conjures up Del and Rodney on the Scenic)?

See, this is why I didn't want to do a poll!

I can't sympathise with your viewpoint more there. Ever since Jazz FM became "smooth" this wretched tune seems to very commonly crop up in its rather predictable playlist. I find the track just never seems to end, and I always hit my new number one DAB preset button to return to Choice. (I know this is way off topic but the aforementioned song just infuriates me - so bland in my humble opinion). Sure I've upset a few Simply Red fans now, but then it wouldn't be good if we all liked the same artists - just imagine the huge arenas we'd need to cater for the mammoth crowds.

I vote for Carol King's Big Yellow Taxi, or maybe the newer Counting Crows version which I bought especially for the enhanced video filmed at New York's Coney Island I believe. (I did bring this along to the Roaring 20's marathon night back in 2003). Funnily enough I can't seem to remember the Carol King track being played at our Convention as mentioned before.

PS Just played that CD in my pc; I forgot the above video also has clips of Two Weeks Notice with Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock. Just for the record! - good video though I thought but no views of the famous landmark Cyclone - criminal.

I completely concur with the desparaging comments offered in the direction of Mr Michael Hucknell and wish to state that Simply Red are little more then middle-class, coffee table cack with a barely talented jewel-toothed jerkoff as a frontman.

I think the Brit Awards showed that finally, we are in best period of British music for fifteen years and their day has been confined to the dusty racks of Cash Converters........

Chas 'n' Dave (everyones favourite two and a half cockney words) now in second place. I know not everyone is a C&D fan, but anything is better than the Huckster!

I know its nothing to do with margate or dreamland but Has anyone heard the Southend song by Cloe Lane?

The Southend Song.....I am scared and confused...Please tell me more!!

Obviously on the 29th April, the top of the poll and other requests will be played at the Dreamland Disco! (Still no nothing about the Southend Song though!)

There is some talk that Cleo Laine will be appearing in Margate this summer as part of our Jazz Festival (which is astonishingly good, if jazz is your thang). Perhaps I should lodge a request at the Winter Gardens for the 'Southend Song'. Or maybe her own scat rendition of Margate. I'd pay to hear that.
