Margate's Shell Grotto Featured in the Kent Messenger
Posted: 02 Apr 2006, 13:48I was just looking through this week's KM What's On guide for the cinema listings when I suddenly saw a picture of the Shell Grotto on their Books page. It's on page 16 (in the Maidstone edition anyway) and includes a picture of Sarah Vickery looking upwards inside the grotto.
The grotto has inspired a local Kent author, Sonia Overall, to create a fictional tale, The Realm of Shells, about the discovery of the bizarre grotto in 1835.
Good to see yet more publicity for Margate's attractions.
