The Scenic all marked up !

Postby Chris H » 16 Apr 2006, 18:17

Hi all

just returned from my Easter visit to Thanet. After visiting the park, i could not help to notice that all the legs on the left hand side of the Scenic on both circuits have all been labeled with a capital L and then 3 digits.
They have all been sprayed on coloured white.
They have obviously used stencils to do this.

I am almost certain they were not their last season. When i saw this, only one thing sprung to mind

This sounds rather worrying; I think we should keep an eye on this one.

I won't cast my personal judgement on this yet but I wouldn't be surprised at what others might also be thinking.

Might be engeneering markings, supports that need attention or replacement.

Or

HSE have been down to do a check and marked random sipports thay have have carried out an NDT Test on and passed or failed them.

Today's grammar lesson.

"There":
there last season
there again.
Hint: contains the word "here"
Here and there. Simmilar usage.

"Their" is posessive.
Their automobile. Their opinion.

That's what i thought when i first spotted them Zoidstar but then i saw every leg on one side had been marked.

They are never usually marked, normally just bashed out and replaced soon after they have been noticed.

There are some safety concerns following a Safety assessment of the Scenic Railway. A full structural assessment of the ride is being undertaken. This is why it is being marked up.

Blind guess was that Bob? Justify your answer, infact, justify any of them by telling us who you are and what your connection is.

Toby says he doesn't know you, and Barry Moss has now said it's not him, so answer a simple question...

Tell us who you are!

Rubbish!

Bob wear do you get this so called fact from that the Scenic has safety concerns.
Even if it did, why only label one side of the track and not both. Surely you would need a reference to every single post for a structural inspection.

Well you can choose to believe what you want. It makes no odds to me. The area that has been identified as of concern is on one side hence the markings on that side only.

Very well Bob, but you still fail to explain where you get this information from.

But on the other hand maybe this would not be such a good idea Bob, it may give away your true identity

I hate to agree, but it's logical. All wooden coasters need regular inspections. Perhaps since the markings are localized, that's all the further they got on the first day(s) of inspection. More to come?
If it's a pest/bug problem, then it could also be localzed.
Many older wooden coasters are less than half their original structure, with bits being replaced here and there every few years.

It's totally normal for a woodie to undergo regular inspections and have sections of wood replaced.

As usual Bob is trying to make it sound like there is a problem, when it's actually normal wear and tear/maintenance.
