I spent a few hours in Margate yesterday with some mates. The weather was great and the wheel looked superb. Pubs were busy; the beach was getting good use and there seemed to be loads of people about. Some posts seem to suggest that no one goes anymore.

We thought the whole place was 'buzzing' nicely and would be even better if the council realise the potential in their grasp. Speaking to some of the shopkeepers on the front one name kept cropping up - that of Phillip Miller. They all want him to invest in a realistic future for the town.

The sad bits were the removal of references to Dreamland at the station and the painting over of the old sign to the side entrance. The scenic also looked lonely! :(

A really enjoyable afternoon - good weather, good beer. We promise to make the Shell Grotto next time.

Taffy, Taffy's brother and two mates. :D

Yes nicely pointed out

I had also noticed that the Dreamland sign had been painted black. Last summer it was replaced by Waterbridge's temporary car park sign.

This is obviously another effort to deter people away from the park. :x

Those that have ventured to the Grotto will know that we are tucked away down a little side road. On busy weekends - like this one was - it's a luxury to grab a cuppa, so going out to see what's going on along the front is a bit of a non-starter. However, the concensus does seem to be that there were lots of people in the town. A missed opportunity sadly...

See you next time Taffy.

Gazing at ruined grandeur is so sad.

Hi All

Please no one tell the TDC that there were actualy people visiting Margate on a Bank Holiday weekend some one there (well from what we gather some Conservative members) might actually start to beleve that Dreamland is a Valuble asset to the town and if its there more visitors will come. Thay may even change there minds about there master plan, Then again.
