Last Night????

I bought a new bed and it took all evening to get it from Makro into the van and up to the bedroom. Then I had to chop 20mm off the legs to get it under our fitted 'over the bed' wardrobes.

I would like to be there tonight, but being one of those nasty tourists (who want's to visit Margate for it's top class Amusement Park) I am not very near.

Sarah was surprised that we drove to Chatham for the Disco, and drove back home afterwards!

Good luck to all that can attend, and update the forum as soon as you can. I fear they will plough on with their destructive plans though.

You must stop useing nasty language like that in this forum Tourist the TDC dont want to know words like that, heven forbid Margate might get some of them who want to spend money in Margate the council would not know what to do with them, or indeed where to send them for some quaility entertainment, well thay could attened a meeting of the TDC, as thay are as funny as hell, good luck tonight though but i am not holdng my breath as thease Torys seem hell bent on distrying Margate as a tourist resort.

Had no contact with anyone from who went, so either running really really late or not going so good!

Hi All, The votes were close only two in it,the self satisfied, self congratuatory, smug, conniving, deceiving arrogant idiots who truly believe they are doing everyone a favour by calling themselves TDC by the way folks we should be grateful, over one thousand plants were planted in over seventy troughs along the Thanet Way well they dont really care about Dreamland after all The Dreamland discussion took up too much time and over dominated the meeting time the mayors chains of office clanked and clanged and rattled but they enjoyed a row and scoring petty political points off each other Good points made by Labour side and the entertainment value livened up a potentially predictable Tory gathering which should be shoved out of sight in the non existant wheelie bins that are more important to the people of Margate than Dreamland, At the end of the day they are after all a committed loyal devoted and most of all A LISTENING COUNCIL so they informed us all HA ha ha

I'm sure a full report will be posted soon, but my understanding is :

Effectively Option C was voted in, but with an additional element that means a supplementary guidance document will be produced definining how "Viable" will be determined in relation to the site.

It was certainly a lively meeting in parts !

At least there was no return to thinking about option A.

Interesting that if it was only two votes, it probably means no tory "whip" which clearly shows a split in the council.

Means a more precise target for any political campaign next year if the Save Dreamland Trust sees it as appropriate.

Well done to all those who attended the meeting.

The following is from the local plan pages of this site, doesn't really touch on size

Option A: To reject the Inspector's recommendations and adopt the policy as it stood.
Option B: To accept the Inspector's recommendations and change the policy to protect Dreamland.
Option C: To partially reject the Inspector's recommendations, allowing Dreamland to be redeveloped if an amusement park is not viable.

The only addition is that there may now be a better definition of "Viable" that the development company will need to deal with.

I think the vote that was close (20/22) may not have been the main vote, which had similar voting to last time, but a vote on a Labour raised amendment.

On the main vote I think the whip was still very much in place.

So things have still not really changed Dreamland is still in a state of limbo, who and when is the final say on if Dreamland is viable going to happen, this state od affers can not and must not drag on for many more years a definate anwser must be reached by the end of this year really.
