We went to Dreamland today we spoke to one of the operators and they were very apologetic for the delay in opening, the park did look really good thou, The Big Zipper was going round it looks well wicked! We cant wait! We know that it's supposed to be open but at least thier trying and any effort has to be a good one, right?

Right on track as last year did not think it would be open today, more days wasted so make it appear not viable.

Have they done any work on the scenic railway? I bet not.

With all due respect, my three-legged cat could stage a better show than the operator managed last year. And he might even open on time too...

We are talking`mobile fair ground rides here, they go round the counry and are up and running within two days not two months!

If they spent this time every where they go its bankrupt time unless they are getting paid for doing nothing.

At least there was a couple of bigger rides last year.

I don't want to put people off going but unless some other better rides arrive in the next few days they might as well not bother opening.

a zipper, a matterhorn and some kiddies don't make an amusement park.

on the plus side someone was working on the scenic.

As others have already stated it takes a day to build up most travelling rides and the current operator has been on site for a couple of months now so there is no excuse for having minimal rides on site. You mention the rides on site now - all but the zipper and flying coaster were there last year, plus many more in a lot less time to set up, and from what I have seen the Scenic is still being worked on and not operational as yet. No advertising for the park has been done so how are people apart from a few locals and members of this site supposed to know it is open? Like mentioned before a decent sized travelling fair can be set up in a day or two so why is Dreamland still near enough empty? Apart form the Waltzer and Zipper the other rides have been on site for a few weeks if not more.

For your's and everyone else's information sarah, there was in excess of 10 million pounds worth of rides in the park last year and unless you know a three legged multi millionaire cat capable of doing better, give the new operater some support and stop talking like you could do better, because I am sure that if you could do better you'd be running it and not running it down to everyone  [/quote]
