The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

From the photos I would say it's unlikely that the Park will be ready for the end of May as has been advertised. Was in Margate yesterday and although it was a Saturday would have expected to see work going on in view of the proposed opening date.

Thanks for the update Porf! Good to see how the work is progressing, I hope a decent chunk of the £25M funds some new rides.

Any plans to rebuild ex BPB The Whip, Water Chute & Southport's Wild Mouse for 2017..? These rides are very important to be saved asap rather than leave them to rust away for years on end.

Unfortunately I think there are no plans any more to restore the Wild Mouse - a huge shame in my opinion.
On a brighter note, the Dreamland Trust Facebook page has posted a few good construction updates over the last few days:

Was over in Margate this morning, whilst there has been considerable progress on site since I was last there in April there is still a huge amount of work to finish off before it will be ready for paying guests. Personally I can't see the site being ready for at least another six weeks. I hope I'm wrong and that it does open on the 26th May. Meanwhile we can only keep an eye on the Dreamland website for confirmation of the opening date and also the all important pricing information for this season.

Well I was wrong, it all came together for the planned opening date and having just had a walk around this morning the place looks fantastic. I was there at opening time 11.00am and there was a good queue of families waiting for the gates to open. Wristbands remain good value, only downside catering prices seem a tad on the high side, but with a captive audience they will probably get away with it. With all the musical events planned for the season the place will hopefully go from strength to strength.

Will BPB ex - The Whip return in 2017 or is it too far gone and get scrapped.
