Dreamland Today

We just paid our first visit of the year to Dreamland. We would have been earlier but I have been working away, as per.

First up was the Scenic Railway of course, and it was a nice surprise to see a familiar face in control of the train. Apparently a lot of work has been done in terms of replacing wood this year, although this wasn't very evident from the outside, as it were. The ride was running very well, and fairly fast considering the rain we have had lately.

There was a very fast waltzer on site and various other rides although we only paid a flying visit today so didn't get to try them all out.

The staff seemed friendlier than last year's crew although I got the idea I was being regarded with some curiosity on account of turning up in my campaign T- shirt. The site was clean too and I got the impression the current operator is trying to make a go of it as best he could given the lack of long-term planning.

As ever, Dreamland is worth a visit simply for the Scenic Railway. We will be back in a fortnight so I will try to take some photos.

I've just been down to the park too; agree with VC&S entirely. The park's clean, the staff are friendly, and yes it's great to see Simon on the Scenic (which was running very fast indeed!). The park was also devoid of the slightly threatening atmosphere that members remarked on last year.

Well im off with the coaster force and hopefully some family members at the end of this week and of course will be wearing the Save Dreamland T-shirt to show support. Glad to hear everything is going so well, on my flying visit past margate station this morning on the way home (about 1am) it was lovely to see all the scenic lights on to bring some light to margate.

My girls had a great time at the park. We enjoyed the Scenic too, nice to see Simon and his family.

I agree that the park was being looked after, clean and tidy.

VISIT DREAMLAND SOON!

Been watching and reading this site for the last few years now with some interest. I went back to Dreamland for the first time on thursday of last week not as busy as i was use to, but is was lovely to see the park was up and running. Staff so friendly and helpful. I could see that that the Webb family was trying to get the park looking as best as they can, very clean and tidy, good selection of rides and more on the way. Only thing unhappy with was the fence around the Scenic entrance, anyway at least it was open it was so good to see a familiar face on the brake, do hope SIMON'S on the Scenic through the summer, he's so helpful and friendly and always makes me laugh. I thank the Webbs for opening the park and keeping the fun going. :D :D :D
