You may be interested to know that the Log flume removed from the Rotunda has been re-assembled in a Cornish theme park. The Runaway coaster is due to join it shortly where it will undergo a full restoration!

The name of the park is Killarney Springs which is just off the A39 near Kilkhampton just outside Bude!

Unfortunately the mountain structure on the flume could not be saved due to previous damage so it looks a bit bare at the moment. Still at least its been saved and will be working soon at its new home!

Great news, especially for the Runaway Coaster, if all goes to plan.

It'd be interesting to see some pictures when it gets down there. (I suppose the park has its own website, so it may well post its own update information).

If the news on the Runaway Coaster is correct then that is fantastic news. I feared that this coaster, one of just two of its type in the world, would be lost for good.

Keeping fingers crossed that it is indeed true, and that the coaster, which has suffered quite a bit of neglect over the last couple of years, lives to thrill riders again.

That is good news. You guys only have like 9 or 10 remaining wooden rollercoasters.

I think in terms of wooden coasters (excluding wooden water chutes) the UK has 12, including the Runaway Coaster. We need to keep them all operating.

Certainly preserving one of only two wooden side-friction coasters left in the world is marvellous news assuming it indeed happens.

If true, that news has made my day.

I really did fear for the future of Runaway. Bude is closer to me so I look forward to visiting it in its new home. Killarney have a website here which mentions log flume but no pics.

It's True!

Killarney is having a new website constructed at the moment!

My Son works there when he's not at college so I will go and get some better photos when the weather improves!!

Oh, excellent. Moving a coaster is the perfect time to replace suspect components. It should be quite good when it's reassembled.
