Well spotted...but it is disappointing that there is nothing in the media or the Pleasure Beach website, or facebook, to celebrate this. I think the old bag would rather see it torn down to make way for a nature trail!

Wow that's positive news; further recognition of the historic importance of our few remaining wooden roller coasters!

The full list of rides given listed status is:
Grand National
Big Dipper
Blue Flyer
Flying Machines
Noah's Ark

The last one is interesting as it hasn't been open as an attraction for a number of years; maybe they will wish they had demolished it when they had the chance!

It's actually astonishing those have been listed for various reasons, but wonderful news. So many reasons given in the past for why they weren't listable.

Also the water chute at Scarborough

Attraction to make a splash for years to come http://www.thescarboroughnews.co.uk/new ... -1-8511092

If only Historic England (then English Heritage) hadn't messed up over Southport and Cyclone!

Let's not forget the Rollercoaster at Great Yarmouth, listed last October.

Does this forum have something against Great Yarmouth?

That's great news too. And it makes the loss of so much at Pleasureland even more sad.

It has to be said long & loud that the arson attack on Scenic helped all this, a change of attitude to listing damaged / altered structures, and a few more 'enlightened' folk at Historic England are doing us proud.

Not much left and would cost a fortune to do anything with. Very sad one that.
