Southend Kursaal Book

A new book about Southend's Kursaal Amusement Park is out in April. Anyone who remembers the Kursaal (the south's biggest amusement park), or who is interested in amusement park history, will love this book. It is jam packed with photos of the park at all periods of the 20th Century. Did you know: the park had three wooden roller coasters? It also had a water chute like Blackpool's, and some fantastic dark rides. You can pre-order the book now and you will receive it a few days before its official release date. More details and ordering information here: http://www.joylandbooks.com/books_new/k ... mories.htm.

Incidentally, this is the first book from a new publisher, Skelter Publishing LLP: www.skelterpublishing.com. This publisher will be specialising in books about amusement park and fairground history, and there are some very interesting titles planned for release in the future. The website will formally launch in April when the Kursaal book is out. A publisher to watch out for.

Already ordered Nick. Is Skelter.. associated with yourself, as you are aware im working on a couple of books at it would be nice to have a publisher in the UK that cares about the Amusement Industry and can be trusted to produce books from the UK. Until now i have had to look at the independent American market. If it is connected with yourselves at Joyland i can only say it is a great step forward.

Skelter is 50% connected to Joyland, as I am 'co-owner' of the company. We would be very interested in seeing any manuscripts that you have produced on amusement parks. If you haven't yet completed manuscripts, please still get in touch; we would be very happy to discuss projects with you. We are currently in the process of commissioning several authors. You can get me at: nick@skelterpublishing.com.

Our aim is to create a quality brand producing recognisable titles on amusement park and fairground subjects.
