The Walpole Bay Hotel in Cliftonville/Margate features in next weeks "Hotel Inspector". Channel 5, Monday 13 Jul 2009, 9:00pm.

Used by a fair few SaveDreamland campaign members it'll be interesting to see what they make of it!

Well "Hotel Inspector" is one of my guilty pleasures - From the last bit of that page I'd guess tonight's episode will end fairly well. The one's with a revamp/relaunch tend to be fairly easy going ones. I think they'll play up the disharmony but it'll all be right at the end.

Compared to last weeks hotel The Walpole has positively glowing reviews on the likes of TripAdvisor, bar the odd person who just doesn't "get" the place.

Possibly organising a trip down to Margate later in the year and would be aiming for the Walpole as usual - let's hope it hasn't gone upmarket enough to turn scruffs like me away and that the publicity hasn't completely filled the place!

Alan: You can see it on Five on Demand on the web, a bit like the BBC iplayer. But if you still want it on DVD drop me your address and I'll post you a copy.

Odd watching a programme I like covering somewhere I know. Overall I suspect it's good publicity.

It didn't take me long as it was recorded to hard disk anyway, so couldn't take anything for it.
