The Southend Cliff Lift re-opened today after a five year £3million restoration, the protracted restoration was hamperd by a change in EU laws which has re-designated the Cliff Lift (on rails) as a cable car!

How the ******* do they get a cable car out of a rail mounted cliff lift / funicular...... words fail me!!!!

The weight is on a cable which conects to the carage... I will stall call it a rack railway.

Looks great ,money well spent,good news for the town.
