Pontins go into Administration

The Great British Seaside Resort: sun, sand, piers, funfairs and donkey rides. But that is only part of the attraction. If you love being beside the seaside, talk about it here!

Pontins go into Administration

Postby Bob » 13 Nov 2010, 07:20

Pontins yesterday went into administration. It is hoped that as least a few of the camps will be saved. They have been badly hit by declining numbers of vistors as seaside resorts have fallen out of favour. They have also suffered from inadequate investment with may people unhappy with the standard of their camps.

I would suggest that the fact people didn't like their camps and they hadn't invested has more to do with it than seasides falling out of favour.

previous owners under investing along with bad press on watchdog, these parks are perfectly viable but people want comfort and quality and anybody who buys them has to spend serious money
