According to the wife who's office overlooks the old dreamland site..

The historic scenic railway is this afternoon burning to the ground.

Yes i also witnessed this. I was cycling alone margate front when i noticed the smoke bellowing fro the rear of the arcades. i took a detour round the back out of curiosity when i was greeted with the sickening site of her a blaze :o
i was almost sick!!!
They have pushed it to far this time, they wont get away with this. :x

Well once they go they go... I wonder if this is connected with the arcade arson attack last week?

That's the Cyclone, the woodie at Folkestone, and now this... how very convenient.

Dreamland Scenic Railway On Fire

Just getting reports from over in Margate that Dreamland's listed Scenic Railway is on fire. One of the oldest remaining wooden roller coasters left in the world. No further details, but I'll post more as it comes in.

Cynics might say it was only a matter of time before this happened.

Update: Just been over there to see for myself. Three snorkels pumping water onto three separate parts of the track. Smoke billowing, flames. The track has completely collapsed in one section. Tragic. Will put up photos soon.
