Paigle properties bust?

Rumours on ECR that the one time potential buyers of the Dreamland site may have now gone bust :

Not surprising if true, with the current economic climate - also work there looked a bit stalled on site when I popped in on the DreamCoaster closing weekend.

Bit of a shame as the Sea Bathing Hospital wasn't a bad redevelopment with the exception of the later plans to cram loads of extra units in behind the main building.

I wonder what will happen to the Lido which they also owned.

Not a great time to be into residential property with a large vacant site

No - and given that people seem to be taking more holidays in this country (the PM was on telly last night saying he's taking the missus and kids to Southwold) then I would have thought a huge, family friendly amusement park would be just the thing!

The fact is though, the Development Brief says that the park has to be up and running before anything else.

I don't know about the Sea Bathing Hospital - maybe planning conditions said that had to be done before the rest of the 'enabling' development?

Not a good time for any sort of development though. Let's hope that Dreamland isn't shelved too, the Scenic left standing in its damaged state, and the cinema ever more at risk.

Now confirmed.

Sea Bathing work to continue for the present and Lido's future unknown.

Right thanks for that.

Just as well they didn't get Dreamland possibly... although with the current economic siutaution so much is up in the air (well OK maybe I could rephrase that...)

Not though buildings in the conservation areas, which includes much of Margate sea front?

Quite a number of listed buildings too, thankfully:
