Summary
The aim of this strategy is to ensure seaside towns have the support they need to build on their heritage and benefit from the new opportunities to develop strong economies and communities for the future. Seaside towns have unique histories and retain a special place in the development of modern Britain. This unique heritage is at risk because of the economic decline many have suffered in recent years. However renewed interest in these places and their heritage, coupled with new possibilities to cultivate low carbon economies and online services, provides an excellent opportunity for them to secure economic regeneration.

Any plans need to be realistic. Mass holiday making in the UK has long gone and also the season is far shorter little more then July & August so to make things viable it has to attract locals who will be there all year round. There also needs to be attractions to get people there out of season

Much beter facilities are also needed. Much of what is left in seaside resports has changed little in 30 years and is unlikely to attract people. Most have few if any restaurants of any quality.

What the seaside resorts do they need to do very well and to a very high standard. None in the UK do at present

Thought Bob had quietly disappeared, but no, back again posting risible nonsense.

Southwold? Brighton? And a number of others?

Southend misses out again.

Luckly the council are trying to make changes sadly the tree huggers hate anything that might improve the town or increase jobs.

From the sea fron to the airport and all points in between there are schemes designed to bring Southend up to date but at the slighest sing of a tree being cut down to make the improvements they cry over "the cold blooded slaughter of trees" ignoring the council policy of replacing every single tree cut down with two doubling the number lost...
Zoid on!
