To be honest, I think we have to accept that they will take out whatever they're allowed to now. I don't see that as a bad thing, though, as all the most important things are listed. If Dreamland is allowed to become an amusement park again, all the things that are being removed at the moment can be replaced with better things.

I don't think we should worry. We should just follow the next instruction when Nick has decide what to do in response to the Inspector's Report (when it's available).

But thanks for keeping us up to date. It's interesting to hear what's going on.

....frankly I think it's a bit late for that!. I would suggest that the clock started ticking the day that Jimmy Godden bought Dreamland. Having seen the recent pictures posted on this forum, which show the wowfully sad state the park is now in, I think the bomb has already gone off!.

During the mid 90's I used to live in one of the houses on Buenos Aires. It must have been around 1996, while Godden was "Americanising" the park, around the time that the big wheel was being taken down. I remember commenting to my landlady that the way Dreamland was going, all that was going to be left was the scenic railway, and I joking said to her that perhaps Godden was going to get rid of all rides, except the scenic railway, and then sell it off as a theme park!. I ment it as a joke, I never for one minute thought that it might actually happen...

Though I have also read on here that apparently Godden wants to sell the site off for housing?. I really don't know what the hell is wrong with Thanet Council. Why have they let Dreamland get into the mess that it is now in??. Dreamland was Margates only real attraction, other than the beach. With that gone, no one will want to go there anymore.

Oh, and don't think this new "Turner Centre" will bring in the punters. The way that projects going it's likely to go the same was as Margates pier!

Most ordinary punters want a beach and a theme park, not art!.
