The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

Supposedly, the cars were sold off in an auction earlier this year. It would seem that those people who made either a physical or financial contribution to save this, and the whip, have been sold down the river!

The cars were not sold by auction. They remain at Dreamland for a possibke future project, although unlikely to see the old Wild Mouse rebuilt as the project would not be viable.

Given the state of them and it not being viable to use them why an earth is money being wasted on keeping them? It is little wonder Dreamland is a financial disaster when money is continually wasted

Very expensive planters.Well thats if they everbget around tondeciding what they will do with them.I suspect that they will have rotted away first. Still the goods news is the scenic railway/They have updated the message so it is still being tested but they are working with the suppliers. It does not really make any sense. My interpetation is they tested it and it failed and needs more new parts

If money is wasted then the right people are not running Dreamland who don't care about preserving classic rare rides. If I had any say I'll get a team from Kennywood from the USA to come over and restore The Whip & the Wild Mouse asap.

I think the full size Whip and the Cobree Wheel are still complete. Most of the other rides were partly scrapped by MTCRC. I' understand what's left is of very little use. I would like to see the Whip restored as it's a great part of Fair ground history. I'm not so interested in the wheel to be honest, but don't like to see it being destroyed.

A Yellow erected magic mouse was visible from the road that leads to the newish flats last Saturday April 29. I notice it has now reached The Mail-http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4479950/Dreamland-ride-feet-away-flats.html
I appreciate it is not a wooden mouse but at least it's a mouse! The only magic mouse I can find was/is? one at Brean.

Advice: Don't move next to an amusement park if you don't like noise.

This ride was in storage up until 2013 on the Dreamland site. I understand that key parts were scrapped by the owners of Dreamland as they felt the need to act like kids over CPO. All that was left were the cars with talk of them being turned into planters. None of the rides that were moved from Southport are any longer about. Some of the seats from the Caterpillar are now around the Dreamland site.
