'' I wish they'd bring back that font on the building. It's so in keeping with the Art Deco design. I hate the current font, looks tacky and doesn't fit. The building looks beautiful in that photo, especially all lit up.''

''Totally agree - I worked at the cinema - I can't believe some crackpot okayed what they put on her fin... LED technology is there to duplicate the original sleek neon...''

''The original Art Deco lettering design looks fantastic perhaps they could be installed before opening?''

'Dreamland' was built as part of an amusement park for Margate Estates Co. Ltd. The original Dreamland Park was substantially destroyed by fire in 1932 and the opportunity was taken to extend and modernize the facilities to the designs of Leathart & Granger with interiors by Illes, and was completed in 1935.

Have to say. Been looking at the work on instagram recently; looks fantastic. I never had a big issue with the 1970s lettering but bringing it back to its former glory is a real nice effort. I see they are even restoring the side windows in the sunshine cafe that were bricked up a long time ago along with the fin nosing. It seems like a very thorough job.
Can't wait to see the fnal outcome.

Can't wait to go down to Margate and see this building all lit up in neon. The simple white fairly lights on the road looked affective, would not cost a great deal of money to put some along the street.

There are some smashing photos circualting on social media of the restored cinema building all lit up with a brand new blue and yellow 'neon' lighting scheme.
It also seems they have recreated the original art deco doors which look incredible. Really exciting stuff.

I noticed that the two large shop fronts in the cinema are plain glass and not art deco, is this temporary or permanent.
