They didnt think too well investing millions into a site that has no planning permission then, not really the best way of ensuring they get the best return for their shareholders is it !

Just to update my post a bit, here's the difference between Private and Public Limited Comapnies.
The key difference between UK public limited companies and UK private limited companies is that a UK public limited company may offer to sell its shares to the public.
The Margate Regeneration company is a Private Ltd Company. Most people would take PLC to mean a Public Ltd Company i.e. listed on the Stock Exchange.
