Planning Permission Complaint

The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

If it is Barry Moss then im sure Godden is paying him for his time, the same as he did for sitting at the back of the Theatre Royal on convention day 2003 with his dictaphone !

Thanet District Council has told the Campaign that an enforcement officer would be visiting the site today as the ride requires planning permission which Waterbridge has not applied for.

So is it Waterbridge's responsibility to get the planning permission? If so then if I was M and D's or George Webb I wouldn't be very happy. Clearly Waterbridge haven't got a very good record for applying for planning permission. It's a bit odd that they advertise for a Big Wheel, allow it to be put up without the right planning permission and then some anonymous person tells the Council they want it taken down, a person who is supposedly a represntative of the MRC (and we have no reason to believe he isn't since hw won't deny it) then merrily tells us that they are expecting (and judging by the register hoping) it will be taken down.

All rather odd.

Now you are back peddling furiously as are the rest of the Save Dreamland Campaign members. So rules only apply when it suits you. What a bunch of hypocrites.

We are not back peddling as we are actually urging Waterbridge to apply for planning permission. As I said I didn't know that the structure needed planning permission, so if I was to be critical I would be a hypocrit as I would be criticising someone for making a mistake I would have also made. I do, however, believe that a Big Wheel is fantastic for Margate and as such it gets my approval. I really can't see getting planning permission being difficult (incidentally did this means that last year rides like Booster had planning permssion?)

Fine.
I'll e-mail the council and urge then to do whatever's required to get the G Wheel permitted.

We all agreed when it went up that we'd like to see everything done by the books. I'm telling you people, it's not worth even replying to Bobs' crap. He posts it just to promote chaos.
