The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

The Geauga Lake Big Dipper, built in 1925, is up for sale for $150,000 after the closure of the park in Ohio in 2007:

I just thought I'd mention this for interest's sake. It would be a brilliant addition to Dreamland if it could be brought over but I suppose I'm just dreaming - it probably wouldn't even fit on the Dreamland site.

It's not a giant; long, but narrow.
Here are some better photos.

You can piece it together from the two overhead shots.
This was a nice park and they'd added like 4 coasters in 2000 and 2001. However, they compete with megapark Cedar Point.

It looked like the Big Dipper would be saved by enthusiasts but sadly this appears to have fallen through due to lack of cooperation by the current owners:

Nothing there saying it's in immediate jeopardy. This particular sale went bad.
I don't know why Cedar Fair ever sold it in the first place. They should have relocated it to Cedar Point.
