I Visited Dreamland yesterday for the first time since it closed and was disgusted. The road into Dreamland was filthy and smelled like a urinal. The welcoming ticket boothes to buy tokens or wristbands were gone!! Replaced by a few arcade machines. On finally getting to Dreamland I was further dissapointed by a mobile `ticket office" with only 1 window open!!
and security fencing everywhere! Not to mention the fact you can no longer buy a wristband, but have to buy tokens. There is no mention of age groups on the posters for pricing purposes so you have to que up to ask.We decided to give it a miss and take the 1 to 4 yr olds to arcades only to discover the rides took 20ps and there was nowhere to get 20ps in change! So we returned home with a tan but very dissapointed.
We have recently returned from a visit to north west england, visiting Blackpool pleasure beach and were very impressed by the wristband or token scheme there, non riders did not have to pay entry and wristbands were £20pp and with the pepsi big one and the many other rides,it was excellent value for money.Wake up Dreamland!!!!!!!!

I had to buy £20 of tokens when I visited, and if we wanted to return later that day, we had to have at least 2 red tokens per person. I was in a group of 6, so as we did ot have enough tokens left, I had to buy admission again! Its ridiculous! There are no where near enough rides in the park to justify the admission, plus they would be losing out on trade where people want to see what is there before they go in. Its just another way of making dreamland un-viable, so it can close down, and the leisure boxes get granted.

I think it is disgusting that this has been allowed to happen to Dreamland, you can see by walking round the park that the present owners have no interest in it whatsoever - its dingy and dirty - a thing that would have never been allowed to happen in Dreamland years ago. It makes me think twice about visiting this expensive "travelling" fairground in future. I say travelling, because all the rides except the Scenic Railway fold up, and can be transported - like a travelling fairground. Such a shame they had to get rid of the rides which were built especially for the park.

From a very disappointed visitor

Yes, the entry system does seem to be unnecessarily complicated and inflexible. Not good for the average punter to pay a visit or two. Like you, I spent £20 on a very wet day in late May, wishing I had not really bothered as I didn't feel like riding anything in the climate and the Scenic Railway wasn't running. I also regretted wasting this cash that I could ill afford before my recent holiday.

Hopefully things will only improve.
