The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

Sorry if being light hearted is out of place (we are serious about coming to collect for the fund if necessary) but if we did bring him down, it would be for the first time.
He was in the back of Nicky's car in Maidenhead all day yesterday, he has an alibi.
Vince.

I think we could all do with a chuckle.
How can you tell it's a he?
I presume you will require some sort of permit to make street collections for the campaign fund?

Oooh - that's a declaration of war!
I thought it may have been some physical difference. We won't go into that though, on a public forum...

Just pushing this to the top again - all those who have pledged support - this is something you can do.
Give a little (or indeed a lot) to the campaign to carry on.

Hairy Vince et al,
Yes, some kind of event sounds like a good tonic in the light of the recent tragedy. (I was actually thinking as my temporary job ends this Friday it would maybe be a nice idea to have a get together in Margate for a drink or two this weekend). I reckon most of us could certainly use that at this unfortunate time.
Any takers?? - perhaps we could start a roll call.
Martin
PS As soon as I get back on a better financial footing I'll certainly make another donation to the Campaign.

Could you setup an online fund using JustGiving?
http://www.justgiving.com/
That way it can be posted out to the groups on facebook, one of which has over 400 members related to rebuilding the scenic railway. (It could be setup directly for the Save Dreamland fund)
You can put our widget on nearly all blogs, personal websites and social profiles. We've now got some special code so you can put it on MySpace. Bebo is currently a closed network so it won't show up there for now.
There's a whole separate app especially for Facebook users which you can add here:
http://apps.facebook.com/justgiving
EDIT: Not sure if justgiving is for registered charities? Is Save Dreamland a registered charity?

Just looked at their terms and conditions, and it looks like you need to be a registered charity or non-profit organisation, surely the Save Dreamland campaign can fall into the latter? NPO?
