Shocking photo, yes ..

But the overhead shot brought home to me that there's a lot more of the Scenic left than a lot of the other photos would lead you to believe!

It looks like a section has just been removed. A real shame about the trains, but it does make things less bleak. With all the photos of fire raging it was hard to get a grasp of how much damage there was.

possitive news from around margate especially a certain councillor giving major backing ,also good news that the southport and rhyl stuff is okay its been a bad enough fire but it could have been a lot lot worse

I think its great the pleasure beach has offered its help. They must be the experts now in this country when it comes to wooden coaster maintainece.

I think it would be better if people in the papers don't keep saying its destroyed and thats the end. I feel if more people knew all is not lost then even more support could be raised.

Even if plans did exist, the chances are that constant maintenance would mean deviations from the original as supports are replaced or braced up. My guess is the only thing close to a constant would be the lay of the track.

At the end of the day I think that is the main target to get the same track layout. There must be scope in how this is accomplished.

Well - is a 'like for like' repair required, or something more up to date? Something of the 21 st century - a metal looping section for example...

Yes a loop can be done without up stop wheels, but I don't think health and safety will go for it, incase the train was to slow down on the loop!

I was more thinking that cosmetically it would be the same but it would not matter if a support was accomplished slightly differently if it was not known where it went exactly.

I agree. I suspect that the local authority and the C20th and poss EH (although EH may not need to be involved...) will also agree.
