Corkscrew IS being sold!

Just heard that Alton Towers are selling the Corkscrew and the money made will be donated to a charity.

Not sure if they are selling it as a going concern or as scrap. In any event, I doubt we could raise enough capital to put a bid in.

We will watch with interest!

Hi, I saw it on our local ITV news, they didn't go into so much detail as the BBC have.

I must admit I got a little excited when I heard it was being sold, but now it appears it definitely is being scrapped - such a crying shame.

Just checked the auction, the last bid was £1,040. Just goes to show how much respect this ride had. Can't wait to see what it actually sells for.

Oh, I can see someone who lives alone buying this and locking themselves in! Hopefully, they'll have a cell phone on them that they can reach!
