Just wondering - when Dreamland returns, is it going to be open to all - what i mean are people going to be able to walk through without having to pay to get through a barrier -the reason i ask is that there are many people who will be excluded if they have to pay a set fee, and that would be a real shame. Some families or those on a limited income, may like to walk through and maybe go on a ride and buy an ice-cream. Part of the atmosphere and fun was that Dreamland was open to everyone........
I now people have voiced their concerns about young people and other members of society causing trouble, but i think that is a bit of an unecessary panic......

Dreamland is planned to be open to all with a pay-as-you-go system for those just willing to sample the park and a pay-one-price wristband for those willing to ride all day.

I think that the free entry to all with the wristband option for serious ride enthusisats, and the pay as you ride for those who are not is the best option for the park.

THAT will be fantastic. As I said before, a big part of keeping Dreamland operating will be that it will have to be a place that even the locals can steal away to for a quick bite to eat or a seaside cup of coffee.
This will allow for a slightly longer operating season, perhaps year round for couple of choice eateries, and less dependence on day trip traffic.

Good, and all that lovely green I see in the plan will seal the deal. Dreamland will be a lovely little oasis of food and fun right in the heart of Margate.
great place to have lunch, or bring a date or the kids for a couple hours.

When I started work on the new version, I kept Tivoli Gardens (Copenhaguen) in mind. As all of you certainly know, this is the historical city park that inspired Disney when he created Disneyland.
Well, that said, there's one particular aspect of Tivoli that really fascinates me. There's no "main street" per se but a side street that runs behind their wooden scenic railway that mostly features bars and restaurants. People just go there at night for a meal or a drink. It can be really packed.
I believe that this project will be a success when people come just for a stroll or a drink. Just like you just said, Jim.
Incidently, and I discovered that much later, the street running behind the railroad is called "Tivoli Park Avenue" (question to locals: is that a public golf course that appears on Google Maps?).
And the street that links Tivoli Park Avenue to the Terrace, running alongside the park is called "All Saints Avenue". And that is - literally - the english translation of my own name! Talk about coincidences, heh?

I have a feeling that versatility needs to kept in mind. I see many more rides ending up here once the place takes off.
