Rollercoaster's last run

The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

I have thought and thought about this one, even took a raft of pics with the intention of trying, then didn't, but really so much of it is replacement, although the basic structure is the same and the machinery.

It's very rare, but it's also 20th century, whch makes it harder for listing.

I do wonder though if anyone has ever tried and been refused.

the internals are the same as ever along with the ark structure, the only thing that was removed was the end slide.Undrerneath has obviously been modified over the years with the animals add at a later dated and entrance moved but i think the rest is original even down to its current paint colour, since there are only 2 left in the world and this is the only one left on its original site it would be great if this one could be listed as a testament to the great tourism trade of the early 19th century.Do you have a contact within english heritage who would be able to give you info on whether it has been previously applied for listing

That film is in beautiful condition. Here's a black and white one that's a little more complete.
