Looping Star

The Save Dreamland Campaign was launched by Joyland Books in January 2003 and is now supported by several thousand people. This is the place to discuss all aspects of saving Margate's famous amusement park and its iconic , Grade II listed Scenic Railway, Britain's oldest roller coaster.

A large steel coaster would surely be a massive boost to the sucess of the park as it would emphasize that this is a thrilling theme park from the past. I think a lot of people's perceptions would be that old rides are generally quite boring (that is, of course, people who have never experienced a good vintage ride!).
Clearly it would have to be justifiable as a heritage ride, but the original Dreamland Looping Star is such an important part of Dreamland's history that to reinstate it in its original position at Dreamland would not only add to the thrill of the park, but would be a fantastic addition to the historical value of the heritage amusement park.

I realise I'm preaching to the converted here and that we would all love to see the Looping Star back at Dreamland, I'm just making the point that I think it would really be worth the money and effort to bring it back if that is in any way possible.
