Heard the show, I wasn't expecting it, it just happened to be on air when I tuned in. I was disappointed with the angle that the presenter chose to generate discussion. After a series of pre-recorded snippets from a Dreamland representative, the presenter solicited opinions from Major theme park directors regarding the validity of historical rides over "more thrilling" modern rides. How uninformed. Many Coaster-heads prefer wood precisely because it is more thrilling than steel tube.
Also, one of the Theme Park directors said that he worried that, by Margate acquiring historic rides from seaside locations, there might be a danger of those locations losing out. Eh?
All in all, listeners will have their imaginations captured by the prospect of a heritage amusement park despite this radio programs' failures.
